2026 NBA Regular Season, Postseason Awards (HoopObsession.com)

To help guide our postseason selections, we created a points system designed to highlight the traits we value most. Availability and efficiency are foundational, which is why total production plays a central role in our evaluation. Team success also matters. Players who contribute meaningfully to winning deserve recognition. Defense is another critical factor, though traditional box-score metrics like steals and blocks rarely capture a player’s full defensive impact. Instead, we examine indicators such as the differential between a player’s Defensive Rating and his team’s overall Defensive Rating to better understand individual influence on team defense.

The table below helped inform our thinking, but it was never meant to dictate the results. Ultimately, the selections that follow reflect a balance of data-informed analysis and basketball common sense.
